History Of Mauritius Series Part 2

So let me get this straight? For close on 800 years no one really wanted the Island of Mauritius, bizarre! First it was the Arabs, no they said - seriously were they mad in the head? Then it was the turn of the Porras, they also gave in & threw in the towel! Then the Dutch decided it was meant for them, unfortunately they didn't have the men! They treated the slaves badly & thought that Cape Town was a better bet!

The Danish also tried their luck for a while, their men could never smile. It was not for them, so again it was to leave the treasured isle to make those poor Danish men smile. Then it was up to the British & finally the French. Who would have thought that History could be so interesting & that no one would want our little Darling Mauritius. I can't believe that although many tried they all failed.

Regardless we carry on telling people about the best place on Earth, even though many nations reinvented its birth. The Island of Mauritius is a melting pot of cultures, flavours and tastes. To this day the English & French give each other hell on the Isle de France, this though is not just through chance. I think they bother realise the little treasure that they both gave up. Now they have to share or else no one will go there!

Mauritius is our best, just put us to the test. Whether it be family fun or just to laze around Mauritius is the best place to be all year around. If you don't believe me then just ask the Arabs, Porras, Dutch, Danish, British & French...................................
