Excursions Mauritius
Shopping Excursions
Take a taxi, rent a car, join a tour and hit the shops! You can take a half day excursion to The Big Bazaar, a fair in the town of Quatre Bornes. Visit the boutiques of the Caudan Waterfront, or cross the street to the Port Louis market. In Grand Bay visit the Grand Bay Bazaar or interrupt your shopping experience with coffee, a drink or a meal at one of the many small restaurants. A full day tour will take you to a glass factory, a model ship factory, textile museum, a diamond cutting factory, the many factory shops, the shopping precinct of Curepipe and to Carpet World which sells beautiful Oriental carpets.
Big Game Fishing
The marlin fishing season is at its best between November and April, but there is a lot to entertain the big game fisherman all year round.
Catamaran Cruises
Giant catamarans head north from Grand Bay to Ilot Gabrielle, from Shandrani to Ile aux Cerfs or from Tamarin Bay. Each boat carries snorkelling equipment, and a delicious barbecue lunch is prepared by the crew.
Parc Adventure
Definitely for the more agile this is an expedition through a natural forested area where you can meander along shady paths, cross foot bridges high above the trees and enjoy the spectacle while testing your adventurous abilities.
Quad Biking
An exciting attraction in Mauritius is quad biking in the lush hilltop scenery of L'Etoile, a nature reserve on the south east of the island. A fleet of two-seater quad bikes is available for visitors who don helmets and whiz through the lush vegetation, over rivers and through streams at an exhilarating pace. This is an ideal activity for the group.
