The hectic life of a Travel Agent
I was barely back from my Mauritius Beachcomber educational and couldn't believe it when I got another invite to go see their property in Seychelles. What can I say, the hectic life of a travel agent - well I have to justify this to my boss.
Arriving at the 5 star superior Sainte Anne Resort and Spa was arriving in paradise. There are 87 private villas dotted along the island (29 of them with private pools) surrounded by tropical gardens. It was peaceful, tranquil and secluded even though the hotel was just about full. The rooms are wide and spacious with comfortable gazebos to enjoy your breathtaking ocean view. I just loved the outdoor shower and the bicycles outside each villa tempt you to cycle from your villa to discover the remaining parts of the island.
Sainte Anne has 4 restaurants, two of them being the finest restaurants in Seychelles. Three of them right on the beach, you can't help but kick off your shoes and sink your feet in the sand to enjoy the devine menu's they have to offer you. The Palm Heart Salad was to die for (my mouth is watering just thinking of it).
During our 4 day visit we tried to do it all - boat rides, island hoping and snorkeling on Sainte Anne's doorstep at the untouched Marine National Park, at certain times of the year you can spot the turtles. The one day we put on our takkies and slapped on the sunblock for a full day trip to Praslin and La Digue, you must know with my freckles I really had to slap it on. La Digue was an experience second to none with not a car in site, we were pulled along by horse and carriage, this just added to the mystique of the Seychelles. Returned by light aircraft which was a mind blowing all on its own, you could see the fantastic colours of the water from the air. We also managed a day at Mahe, a tour round Victoria and lunch at Le Jardin at the top of the rain forest. I would love to take a walk through there one day.
Cocktails on the beach was the order of the day and even managed an afternoon at leisure by the pool. Nothing but good weather and beautiful beaches, Sainte Anne was truly an unforgettable experience.
As always, it was over too quickly. Two days back at work and the sandy shores were beckoning.
I love my Job
Warm Regards
